My character Elsium Just some practice to explore different design possibilities I think of Elsium as one of my skullbirds, though the quadrupedal form can be misleading.
This is a very nice design idea. I can see a bigger, harsher version of this being a really cool and creepy creature in a movie (since it's way too cute to be scary as it is ^^). It also reminds me a little of the thestrals in Harry Potter.
The only thing that threw me off a little about this was that the claws on it's right front leg seem to fade out a little, little bit too much, at least the one closest to the viewer.
Thanks! You're the first to mention thestrals, and that moment in the books truly unsettled me when I read it as a kid, and it 's probably stayed with me subconsciously. I had such a strong image of them that the movie version never did justice to the written description, imo. Cute thestrals, haha xD Elsium would be glad that he looks cute, though. (:
I did have trouble with the perspective in the feet, I'll try and be more aware of them in the future (: Thanks again!
Thank you I was at an outdoor street fair last summer, and in one tent was the most beautiful deer skull I have ever seen. The man in the tent had actually found the skull himself, and could tell all sorts of things just from the skull - the age of the deer, how it might have died. He dried and cleaned the skull all on his own, too, and it was just perfectly preserved! I was so tempted to buy it (he was selling it for a really low price!), and probably would have, too, had the atm at the fair not been broken that day. I was a little relieved at the time, since I hadn't planned to spend that much that day, anyway
Oh woah. That sounds amazing. Bones and taxidermy have this odd definite appeal to me. I don't encourage the killing of animals or harm to them in any way, big animal rights supporter, but taxidermy still fascinates me. That seems to be at best most of the people who aren't outright hunters and fascinated with, and at smallest a fringe group, so either way there's a place I fit in the cruelty free zone. I have a hundred or more year old silver fox full body stole that my grandmother got from her aunt, it's just beautiful and has such a mysterious history I wish I could ever find out. Street fairs also sound just dazzling. Sounds like you had an intervention of luck that day. Something is bound to come across later that will be the same level of magnificent. Also, sorry about such a long wait... again. I had an exceedingly rough patch these past few months with home life. At any rate, message was sitting in my inbox waiting for a good reply, and now I've found one.
His design is stunning! I absolutely love the way he's been put together with the feathers and bird-like appearance, but also the four legs which make him a little more mammalian. The colouring is, as always, just gorgeous and the dark hues make him so mysterious~
Thanks! There were a few iterations of its design (and I'm still changing parts), I'm glad you like how it turned out here! It started out as coloring practice, so it's good to hear you like how they look here. Thank you so much
